Flickr

Flickr is a social network of a sort but leans in another direction.

Flickr is an online photo management and sharing application rather than a personal text message tool or SMS or micro blog.

Flickr provides both private and public image storage and allows the user uploading an image to set privacy controls which will determine who can view the image. A photo can be flagged as either public or private.

Flickr allows for the easy in and out process of photos and video from the web, from mobile devices, from the users' home computers and from whatever software they are using to manage their content. In addition they provide easy export on the Flickr website, in RSS feeds, by email, by posting to outside blogs.

Flickr also provides the user with the ability to maintain a contact list which can then be used to control image access for a specific set of users.
