Train Travel

Crossing the U.S. or Europe by Train

Have you been longing to experience a vacation via train travel? Travel by train has been glamorized by movies or commercials as you see a couple sitting at a table in the dining car gazing at each other over glass of wine.

Perhaps the images of crossing mountain ranges and terrain that is not traveled by bus or automobiles offers a sense of tranquility. Whatever the image is that pulls you towards taking a long train ride, be sure to do some prepping.

If you are planning to go to Europe and want to travel by train, be sure to carefully review the train schedule and which trains travel at what time. There are several train classifications and not all routes have the same type of train. That means that if for example you are looking for a sleeper car or for overnight accommodations, not all trains provide the same services.

For train travel within the U.S., Amtrak travels to over 500 destinations in 46 states, giving you the best views the country has to offer in addition they go to all major cities, as well as places that can only see by rail.
