Bodybuilding Organizations

The National Amateur Bodybuilders Association (NABBA)
is an organization that was founded in 1950 to promote bodybuilding in the United Kingdom.

The NABBA has a number of competitions which include: NABBA Mr. Universe (amateur and professional), Miss Physique, and Miss Figure. Mr. Universe is a bodybuilding contest where bodybuilders are judged on the proportions, size and clarity of each muscle group.

International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness (IFBB) started in 1946 and is well known for the Mr. Olympia Competition or otherwise known as the Joe Weider’s Olympia Weekend.

The first Mr. Olympia competition was held on September 18, 1965 in New York. Arnold Schwarzenegger attained great recognition in the world of bodybuilding by having won the title of Mr. Olympia seven times in the course of his bodybuilding career.
